2022 Wenchang Primary School English Teacher Professional Skills Training Completed Successfully

To improve the teaching ability of the primary English teacher in Wenchang City, the Wenchang Education Research and Training Center held a professional skills training class for primary English teachers at the Wenchang Weijia International Hotel from March 19 to 20, 2022. In total, 79 English teachers attended the course. In the opening ceremony, Director Shi Bibo presented a critical speech. He emphasized the importance of English teaching in Grade 1 and Grade 2 and analyzed its problems. He also raised an urgent request for the English teaching for Grade 1 and Grade 2 in Wenchang.

Wenchang Education Research and Training Center invited three experts to join this training: John, a foreign teacher from Hainan Vocational Foreign Languages College, Wu Yanxia, a senior teacher in Hainan Province, and Wang Yuanzhen, a provincial backbone teacher in Hainan Province. They gave lessons on Skills for Giving an English Speech, Interpretation of Children's English Textbooks and Homework "Reducing the Burden and Increasing Efficiency", and the Overall Teaching Unit Design and Implementation of Children's English in Hainan International Tourism Island. The classes were relaxing and humorous. The three experts showed various teaching methods to lead the trainees to master multiple English teaching skills, such as practical exercises, game interaction, and video and song playing. The trainees said that they had benefited a lot, from learning lots of knowledge to mastering many new teaching methods. They would also take all they have learned back to their classes and make their students speak better, practise better and learn better.

After the training, Director Shi Bibo of Wenchang Education Research and Training Center gave a concluding speech. He emphasized the importance of children’s English related to the international tourism island in Grade 1 and Grade 2, and asked teachers to consider how to deliver better education. He highlighted the importance of the practicality of first- and second-grade homework design. Teachers should seize opportunities to let the students do oral language training in Grade 1 and Grade 2, and make full use of resources to strengthen their input of knowledge on humanities and regional culture of Hainan and cultivate them with an international perspective. Thus, this will lay a solid educational foundation for Hainan Province to have more talents that connect with the world.
